Hazelnut oil, obtained by cold pressing lightly roasted hazelnuts, has a delicious praline scent. With its dry touch and excellent absorption, it offers real cosmetic benefits.

It is particularly suited to oily skin and combination skin prone to imperfections, as part of a morning and or evening facial routine.

At Siprès, we use hazelnut in the form of virgin vegetable oil, cold-pressed.

Properties

Balancing, Siprès hazelnut oil is an ally for oily and acne-prone skin that tends to shine too much and develop imperfections. It helps regulate sebum production and therefore reduce spots and blackheads.

Softening and nourishing, thanks to its richness in omega-9, hazelnut oil helps preserve the skin’s natural protective film and maintain hydration. It leaves the skin with a silkier, non-greasy feel.

As a precaution, people allergic to nuts are advised to avoid using hazelnut oil, even externally.

History

The hazel tree has been known since prehistoric times in the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere, thriving in relatively mild winters and not overly hot summers. The Turks were the first to cultivate hazelnuts and still produce them in large quantities today.

Large-scale production in France only dates back to the 1970s and is mainly concentrated in Aquitaine. It represents only 1% of the global market. Many hazelnut oils come from Turkey, even though the brand behind a famous chocolate spread already buys nearly 80% of that country’s production.

Origin

Siprès hazelnut oil comes from hazelnut orchards in south-western France, on a family farm run by Nathalie. The fruits are pressed by the producer, who fully manages the production chain of her oils, from first-grade fruits to distribution.

Hazelnut cultivation remains rare in France. The hazelnut oils found on the market often come from Turkey, or even further afield, which reduces control over the traceability of these oils.

Extraction

Siprès hazelnut oil is cold-pressed in order to preserve all its properties.
