Long forgotten, hemp has been regaining its prestige in recent years. It is a very ecological plant: on the one hand, its cultivation requires little water and is very vigorous, without the need for pesticides, and on the other hand, everything in the plant is usable, from its seeds to its stem.

Its applications are numerous: construction, textiles, creative arts, food and of course, cosmetics! We particularly like it because it has a dry touch, does not leave a greasy film, as well as numerous properties.

At Siprès, we use hemp in the form of virgin vegetable oil, first cold pressed.

PROPERTIES

Anti-inflammatory and skin-regenerating thanks to its high content of omega-3 and omega-6, hemp seed oil helps stimulate the regeneration of damaged skin and soothes sensitive skin prone to redness and irritation. It is also a valuable ally in helping to prevent the signs of ageing.

Nourishing, it helps prevent skin dehydration by acting deep within the skin. It restores softness to dehydrated skin and shine to the hair.

Its balanced lipid profile (omega-6 / omega-3 ratio close to that of skin lipids) makes it particularly compatible with the skin.

HISTORY

Hemp is one of the first plants cultivated by humans for various purposes. Its highly fibrous stem was long used for making ropes, sails, and paper. At the end of the 18th century, hemp cultivation was still very widespread in Belgium. It then declined significantly due to the massive import of cotton and the use of synthetic fibres. Wrongly associated with narcotic cannabis, hemp cultivation was at one time considered illegal. Today, it is regaining strong interest, both for its highly resistant fibre—particularly in eco-construction—and for its oil in the natural cosmetics sector.

ORIGIN

Siprès hemp seed oil is made from organic seeds grown in Wallonia (Belgium) by Victor and his small team. The hemp sector in Wallonia is mainly focused on construction, insulation, and animal feed. Only a small portion of production is intended for human food and cosmetics, with fully controlled traceability. As a result, the product is still not widely available despite its many benefits.

EXTRACTION

Siprès hemp oil is cold-pressed to preserve all its properties.

In compliance with European regulations, Siprès hemp facial oil is derived from hemp seeds and contains no THC or CBD.
