Christmas is just around the corner, and what better way to create a warm atmosphere at home than with natural, simple and festive decorations.
If you are looking for natural decoration ideas for your Christmas table that are easy to make at home, here are our favourites. We tested several options and are sharing our top three. Simple to create and beautiful to look at, they will bring an authentic and natural touch to your celebrations.
Idea 1: a natural Christmas table centrepiece

Creating a festive centrepiece using natural elements is easier than it seems.
Cut a few branches of fir, holly or other winter plants from your garden. Arrange them along the centre of the table. Add a small battery-powered string of lights and a few Siprès winter candles for a warm festive scent of pine, citrus and cinnamon. Finish by adding a few decorations such as dried orange slices and small salt dough stars that you have made yourself.
For an extra magical touch, add a ribbon, mini Christmas baubles or a few berries.
Preparing dried oranges

Dried oranges are perfect for scenting and decorating your home. They are often used in natural Christmas decorations. Here is how to prepare them :
Preheat the oven to 90°C.
Wash the oranges and cut them into fairly thin slices (maximum 0.5 cm) so they dry more easily.
Place the slices on a baking rack lined with parchment paper, making sure they do not overlap.
Dry the oranges in the oven for around 3 hours, turning the slices every 45 minutes, until they are dry but still slightly flexible.
Let them cool completely before using.
They will also fill your home with a lovely orange scent !
Preparing salt dough decorations

In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour with 1 cup of salt.
Gradually add 1 cup of warm water while mixing to form a smooth dough.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for a few minutes until it becomes soft and non-sticky. If it is too sticky, add a little more flour.
The dough is now ready to be shaped into forms, figurines or decorations. To make stars (both large and small), we simply used cookie cutters.
For a festive and fragrant touch, you can also sprinkle in spices such as cinnamon.
Before placing them in the oven, make a small hole so you can thread a string through later. We used a metal straw to create the holes.
To harden your creations, bake them at 90°C for 1 to 2 hours depending on thickness, then let them cool.
Idea 2: natural napkin rings for your Christmas table

With a few dried oranges and some salt dough, you can create unique and charming napkin rings.
Make a hole in the dried orange slices (for example with a skewer). Wrap a piece of string around your napkins, then thread it through a star and an orange slice. Finish with a nice knot. You can also add a small kraft paper or off-white card label to write each guest’s name if you have a seating plan.
Idea 3: a cork Christmas tree
Create a decorative tree by reusing cork stoppers !
Nothing could be simpler: using a hot glue gun, stick the corks together as shown in the photo to form a tree shape.
Once the glue is dry, you can paint your tree or spray it with white paint for a snow effect. Add a small ribbon if you want an extra festive touch.
These natural Christmas table decoration ideas are simple to make and accessible to everyone.
