Properties
Astringent, firming and purifying, geranium rosat helps tighten pores, revive the complexion and improve skin firmness. As a hydrosol, it helps mattify the skin by regulating sebum production. It may also help prevent early wrinkles and is appreciated by mature skin.
Anti-inflammatory, it helps soothe skin prone to redness or conditions such as eczema.
History
Native to South Africa, geranium rosat was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. In the 19th century, when Rosa damascena became rare and expensive, perfumers searched for alternatives with a rose-like scent.
Cultivation spread to regions with more favourable climates such as North Africa and Réunion Island. Today, China is a major exporter.
French-origin geranium rosat is now rare and precious.
Origin
The hydrosol used in Siprès Geranium Rosat Water is produced in Provence on a family farm that has been organic for over 40 years.
