Rosemary is traditionally found in the Mediterranean region, where it thrives in sunny climates and dry soils. Depending on the terroir, it produces three types of essential oils: verbenone, cineole and camphor.
At Siprès, we use rosemary as an essential oil rosemary verbenone.
Properties
Known for its purifying properties, rosemary verbenone essential oil is used for blemish-prone skin, redness and breakouts, as well as oily hair.
Toning and regenerating, it helps fight early signs of ageing.
Healing, it supports skin barrier regeneration.
At Siprès, we exclusively use rosemary verbenone, which is gentler than camphor or cineole chemotypes.
History
Native to the Mediterranean, rosemary was known to Egyptians and Greeks, who considered it a revitalising remedy linked to love. It gained prominence in the 14th century when it became part of the famous Queen of Hungary Water. It was also burned during plague epidemics to purify the air.
