HOW TO USE VEGETABLE OILS FOR HAIR CARE?

Less silicone, more nourishment: going back to vegetable oils for strong, shiny hair.

Thanks to the right fatty acids and ceramides they contain, vegetable oils help nourish your hair deeply, smooth the cuticle and protect the hair fibre from external aggressions. The goal: strong, shiny, soft and lightweight hair, less dry and less brittle.

I have medium-length hair and for the past 4 to 5 years, I have completely stopped using conventional hair masks and conditioners. These are often made with silicones that give you the illusion of healthy hair, but in reality, they suffocate the hair fibre and weaken your hair.

In natural beauty, hair care is done upstream before shampooing so the hair really has time to be deeply nourished.

THE SPECIAL FEATURE OF SIPRÈS OIL-BASED HAIR TREATMENTS

Siprès has developed some unique hair oils as they emulsify upon contact with water.

As you know, oil and water do not mix: this can make rinsing out oily hair treatments more difficult as it requires several shampoos to successfully remove the oil.

The Siprès Hair Oil Treatments can be removed with just one shampoo.

Which Oil Hair Treatment for which type of hair?

- Nourishing Hair Oil Treatment: dry, curly, textured hair

- Lightness Hair Oil Treatment : fine hair, prone to greasiness, lacking volume

- Pregnancy & Postpartum Hair Oil Treatment  (without essential oils): all hair types, stimulate growth

WHAT QUANTITY OF OIL TO USE?

This obviously depends on the length and thickness of your hair. The goal is not to have hair dripping with oil, but hair that is just slightly shiny. Your treatment will not be more effective because you increase the quantity. On the contrary, you risk weighing the hair down and overloading the scalp.

It is better to increase the frequency of oil treatments rather than the quantity.

For medium-length hair, use around 4 pumps of a Siprès Hair Oil Treatment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU HAVE A HAIR TREATMENT?

Depending on the condition of your hair, do an oil treatment one to four times per month. I personally do it about once every two weeks.

You definitely should not do it every day, but you should not do it only once every three months either if you want to see visible improvement. Wait at least one month of regular use before assessing the benefits of oil treatments.

Q&A

Repairing split ends like in certain ads is simply not possible... No treatment can “glue” two parts of a hair back together. If your split ends are significant, the only solution is to visit the hairdresser for a small trim to stop the split from travelling higher and becoming worse.

On the other hand, caring for your hair with a 100% natural hair routine and regular oil treatments will help you have less damaged hair in the future.

Normally yes, but the first time, do a test with a small amount of oil and a shorter leave-in time to make sure the oil does not strip your colour.

At first glance, it may seem strange to put oil on hair that already gets greasy quickly. But just like oily skin, a scalp that gets greasy quickly can sometimes be unbalanced for example if you use a shampoo with overly harsh surfactants. Lightness Hair Oil Treatment notably contains French hazelnut oil, known for its sebum-regulating properties. Used in a light scalp massage, it can help rebalance the scalp and improve the appearance of oily-prone hair.
