Best known as a food product, rapeseed oil is also highly interesting in cosmetics due to its composition rich in essential fatty acids from the omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 groups.

At Siprès, we use rapeseed in the form of a virgin, cold-pressed vegetable oil.

Properties

Nourishing and softening, rapeseed oil helps maintain the integrity of the skin barrier and prevent dehydration of both skin and hair. It brings comfort and suppleness.

Regenerating, it helps preserve skin elasticity and softness.

Its natural richness in omega-3 makes it particularly suitable for dry and sensitive skin.

History

Rapeseed originates from an ancient cross between cabbage and turnip. Introduced to Europe in the 18th century, its name comes from the Dutch koolzaad, meaning “cabbage seed”.

Highly appreciated by pollinating insects, it also plays an important agronomic role in crop rotation. After oil extraction, the protein-rich meal is used for animal feed. Beyond its plant protein content, it has many valuable uses.

Origin

Siprès rapeseed oil is produced organically by Jeremy in the Gers region of France. The seeds are grown and pressed directly on the farm, ensuring full traceability.

Extraction

Siprès rapeseed oil is cold-pressed to preserve all its properties.
